Events generally in Northern California
The Tamburitzans are an ensemble consisting of dancers, singers, and musicians who perform dances and songs from countries all around the world, mainly Eastern Europe. Originating from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, their mission helps preserve international cultural heritages through artistic performance. For more than 80 years the Tamburitzans have delighted audiences around the globe and are indeed a Pittsburgh treasure!
All performers are full time college students at a Pittsburgh-based college or University.
Each year, the Tamburitzans have different sets of traditional music and dances featured in their program. This year they are performing dances from Serbia, Croatia, Armenia, Slovakia, Poland, Mexico, and many more! One of their performers today is born and raised in Campbell, California. She has been a member of The Tamburitzans for the last three years, while also studying at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is very excited to be able to perform in her home town for the first time!
A Tamburitzan ticket represents not just the Arts, but the academic dreams of future teachers, lawyers, nurses, and music and business professionals. Please help support this wonderful group of young students and enjoy an evening full of ethnic music and dance!
