Join us for a very special workshop lead by master Bulgarian dance instructor Yuliyan Yordanov.
Bulgarian ethnic dance is centuries-old tradition that still brings people of all ages together for moments of unity and spontaneous joy. Irregular rhythms, upbeat enthralling music on traditional Balkan instruments, and gorgeous costumes are all characteristics of Bulgarian folk dances. Most Bulgarian dances are line dances, with the dancers holding hands in a straight or curved line, facing in toward the center of the dance space. These dances are frequently seen at weddings and other celebrations with participants’ inherently beaming smiles. The music and the overall emotions are just that powerful.
Yuliyan Yordanov has been living in the San Jose area for the past few years, and has decided to return to Bulgaria. This may be our last chance for a while to learn Bulgarian dances from him.
