Master folk dance instructor Ira Weisburd is making a rare appearance in Northern California to be featured in this special workshop and party.

Of the many dances Ira’s introduced to us include Cumbia Semana and Kritiko Serviko.

Ira will be selling his new CD with dance notations and t-shirts.

Ira Weisburd

Ira Weisburd is a favorite among dance instructors and choreographers. He has taught worldwide including Canada, Taiwan, Australia, Germany, France, Bulgaria, and the Netherlands. In the United States he has taught at San Antonia Folk Dance Festival, Camp Hes Kramer in Malibu, and the Hawaii Line Dance Festival. He has taught at internationally at the Hora Shalom Israeli Dance Camp in Australia, the Annual Dance Away Folk Dance Weekend in the Netherlands, and at Mayworth, Australia’s largest line dance festival.

Ira is an award winning, internationally recognized choreographer, choreographing dances for recreational folk dance line dancers for more than 40 years. He is unique in that his background in all kinds of music from around the world has enabled him to create an amazing wide variety of circle and line dances, many of which have become instant classics, on the must do playlists of hundreds of groups. He has a huge following throughout ASIA, EUROPE, USA and ISRAEL. He made his mark on the world of Israeli folk dancing with Bol Malka back in 1985. Since then he has choreographed dances with legendary choreographers from Israel including Yoav Ashriel (Hassapico Sympatico), Gadi Bitton (Touch the Floor) and Eli Ronen (Hasasspico Mozart). Ira was the first non-Israeli to be recognized as an Israeli folk dance choreographer. His dance Shuj Shuj Zemer took 6th place out of more than 200 dances in the Rikud Hashana (2005 Dance of the Year Competition). In 2006, his dance Sonata took 1st place in the same competition. His dance Cumbia Semana hit the top of the charts when first introduced and continues to be a favorite to this day. He also won the prestigious “Dancer’s Choice Award” for the 2010 Dancer’s Friend of the Year and the 2013-14 Male Instructor of the Year in Las Vegas!!

Ira enjoys a combined Facebook and Youtube following of 13,000 subcribers. He is regularly invited to give workshops in cities across the U.S,, Canada, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Germany, France, Reunion Island, Mauritius, and Bulgaria.
