SUMMARY:Lark Camp 2024
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy idyllic days and nights in the redwood forest of the Mendocino Woodlands. Take as many or few workshops as you like\, join jam sessions 24 hours a day\, dance every night\, and enjoy good food\, seeing old friends\, and making new friends. Lark Camp is where musicians\, singers\, and dancers learn traditional styles from all over the world. \nAbout\nLark Camp is an unparalleled week long world culture\, music\, song\, and dance event that takes place in three different camping areas within one park – The Mendocino Woodlands. Each has a musical theme\, and hosts workshops\, sessions\, and dances. Campers choose one of the camps to “live in” for the week\, but may attend workshops and events in any camp\, traveling by free shuttle\, walking\, or your own bicycle. Most campers prefer to camp for the whole week\, but you may also come for “half-camp”\, either the first four days\, or the second four days. \nWorkshops are offered for a variety of levels for adults and young adults; families with young supervised children are welcome. In Camp One\, there are kids’ programs that include instrument making\, art projects\, and a wonderful Kid’s Play that is rehearsed\, costumed\, and performed on the last night of camp. DESCRIPTION:Please join the Land Dancers this Labor Day weekend August 31 to September 2 for International and Israeli folk dancing and music at The Land. Anyone is welcome.  Fun for families. No charge. Held every Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend. Founded by Cliff Jenkins and friends in 1981.  \nYou can camp out for the whole weekend or just come for the day and enjoy the deck\, the creek\, the forest\, dancing and friends! \nWe dance outdoors on a big redwood deck where two creeks come together in the Santa Cruz Mountains\, off Skyline Blvd near Highway 9. Dancing typically runs from around noon to 11 pm Saturday and Sunday but there isn’t a set schedule. Note map shown is only general vicinity\, contact Betsy to RSVP and for directions. \nThe event is free of charge but we welcome donations to Land Dancers\, the 501c(3) organization we created to organize and carry on folk dance weekends at the land.
