DESCRIPTION:Join the Peninsula Council Folk Dancers for an all-request dance party!  We’ve missed dancing with you!  Our emcees for this party will be Ellie Wiener\, Clem Dickey\, Alicia LaFetra\, and Lisa Michael.  \nWe’ll have dances for all levels\, beginning to advanced. Dress comfortably in layers; sneakers or low-heeled dance shoes recommended.  \nWe do dances from nearly every country in the world\, and the music is incredible.  Dances range from beginning to advanced\, and all forms (line\, couple\, and set). If you’d like to bring a snack to share\, please make sure they are prepared for individual servings. \nSend dance requests to pfdcparty@gmail.com \nDOWNLOAD and share a flier. \nHealh Precautions\nWe’re expanding our safety program to continue to keep things as safe as possible while dancing during these Covid times. For our party\, please note the following: \n\nFully vaccinated dancers only\, with vaccine card check. Please email a picture of your vaccine card to us at pfdcparty@gmail.com. Once we check your vaccine status we will delete your email and the picture you send.  You can also bring your card to the party. Good news – If you attended the Movable Feet New Years Eve party\, we have your information.\nN or KN 94 or 95 masks are required. If you forget yours\, we will have spares for you. Cloth masks and simple surgical masks won’t be used.\nOutside tables – It should be in the 60’s\, with no rain\, so we’ll have tables outdoors!\n\nThank you for understanding our increased safety rules; we want to keep dancing in person and will adjust monthly as we get more information.

DESCRIPTION:The 73nd annual international Festival of the Oaks features a morning international folk dance workshop with Carol Friedman\, a hot lunch\, exhibition dance performance\, and a program of afternoon recreational dances. Includes a pre-owned folk dance costume sale in the dance hall.  Fun for all ages! No partner needed.  \nSchedule\nAll Day — Institute and Folk Dancing\, $30.00 \n\n\n9:00-9:30am\nRegistration\n\n\n9:30am-12:00pm\n Dance workshop with Carol Friedman\, $18.00\n\n\n12:00-1:00pm\n Hot lunch\, $10.00\n\n\n12:00-1:00pm\n Federation membership meeting. Includes lunch provided to Federation members attending.\n\n\n12:30-4:30pm\n Pre-owned folk dance costume sale\n\n\n1:00pm\n Exhibition dance performance \n\n\n1:00-5:00pm\n International dance party. Dances from around the world and institute reviews. $17.00\n\n\nAttendees must be fully vaccinated\, including boosters. KN95 masks required. Along with teaching dances from all over the world\, her classes combine rhythm\, geography\, historical and cultural context\, physical fitness\, community-building\, and just plain fun. She has taught folk dance for seniors at Villa Marin in San Rafael\, world rhythm and dance at Dance Palace Summer Camp in Point Reyes Station\, line dancing at Indian Valley College in Ignacio\, ballroom dance in Point Reyes Station\, and folk dance at College of Marin. Throughout the pandemic\, she taught weekly Israeli and Balkan classes on Zoom\, and continues to do a once-monthly Balkan class so she can dance and hang out with old and new friends who live too far away to come to her in-person classes. She currently teaches in-person weekly international folk dance classes at Herman Sons Hall in Petaluma as well as Israeli folk dance at Osher Marin Jewish Community Center in San Rafael. \nRegistration\nOnline Registration Mail-in Registration Form
