SUMMARY:New Years Eve Dance Party and Second Harvest Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Come help Moveable Feet celebrate the arrival of 2022 with an in-person potluck supper and dance party while raising money for a local food bank!\nDownload a flier  \nThe combined\, free New Year’s Eve International Folk Dance Party and Lucy Chang Memorial Second Harvest Fundraiser will kick off on Friday\, December 31\, at 7:45 p.m. and wind down not long after we ring in the New Year on Saturday morning. Once again it will be held at All Saints’ Episcopal Church\, 555 Waverley Street\, Palo Alto. Loui Tucker will emcee the party. \nMoveable Feet has set a $4\,000 fundraising goal for Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. Last year’s virtual event\, held about eight months after Lucy’s death\, raised a record-breaking $9\,357. The entry fee is being waived in hopes it will encourage extra-generous donations to Second Harvest. \nSecond Harvest is not accepting canned or packaged food donations during the pandemic. What they need is financial help\, in the form of online donations; cash and checks also will be accepted at our party. \nAttendees should be prepared to show proof of vaccination; masking requirements will follow Santa Clara County regulations then in effect.  \nPlease donate in advance to help Second Harvest through the holiday season\, using (and crediting) the Moveable Feet donation site:  \nDonate  \n( https://impact.shfb.org/MoveableFeet )

DESCRIPTION:Learn and enjoy with others simple international social dances from Europe\, the British Isles\, Latin America\, the Middle East\, Asia\, the USA and other places. The repertoire includes couple\, line\, circle\, and set dances. Join others for an afternoon of dances designed to get new dancers on their feet and moving to music\, holding hands\, kicking up their heels\, and meeting other new dancers. \nThis event is for the many people who have been wondering why other people enjoy folk dancing so much. They’ve been wanting to join other folk dancers\, but don’t know where to begin. They may be children and grandchildren\, work colleagues\, members of your book club\, family\, people in your neighborhood\, and others. Are you one who made a New Year’s resolution to get out more\, to get more exercise? Now is the time to join other dancers and friends with a pair of comfortable shoes and give folk dancing a try! \nShare or print a flier. \nNo partner or experience necessary.  Wear layered clothing and comfortable shoes. \nThis event will follow all COVID-19 health orders in effect at that time.
