DESCRIPTION:Online and on-site with globally inclusive Zoom sessions! \nPlease join us for TEXA-KOLO 2021\, a joyous celebration of folk music and dance. We’re all yearning for a big event – this is it!  \nKolo Festival is now named as the John Filcich Kolo Festival in honor of Kolo Festival Founder John Filcich. \nDance Teachers\n\nSonia Dion & Cristian Florescu – Romanian line & couple dance\nEvren Soytopcu-Kıyak & Ahmet Lüleci – Turkish Dance\nSteve Kotansky – Balkan Dance and Culture\nMichael Ginsburg – Balkan Dance and Culture\n\nWe’re excited to announce that Thursday’s program\, exclusively over Zoom\, will feature live\, hour long sessions with:  \n\nJaap Leegwater\nRoo Lester\nYannis and Simos Konstantinou Bata Maroetio\nTom Bozigian\nYves Moreau\nJoe Graziosi\n\nMusic\nMusicians from around the world playing folk dance music for you from: Albania\, Bosnia\, Bulgaria\, Canada\, Croatia\, Greece\, Hungary\, Israel\, Macedonia\, Norway\, Romany communities\, Romania\, Serbia\, Sweden\, Turkey\, United States.  \nEnjoy music & singing classes\, jams\, and live & recorded music parties throughout the weekend. Music staff\, assembled from both Texas and California\, includes:  \n\nJohn Morovich\nMichele Simon\nMaria Bebelekova\nBill Cope\nDon Weeda\nShirley Johnson\n\nBut wait\, there’s more!  \nThis year\, on both Friday and Saturday\, John Filcich will have an hour to share wonderful stories about Kolo Festival over the years and a few of his favorite dances. And in the hour following\, John Morovich will share some of his favorite Croatian dances! And both will have live tamburitza music!  \nTEXA-KOLO 2021 is an historic hybrid partnership. There will be electricity in the air as we gather live\, on-site at the Croatian American Cultural Center in San Francisco\, plus electronically over Zoom.
