SUMMARY:Rumyana Filkova: Songs and Dances of Bulgaria
DESCRIPTION:Rumyana Filkova\, an accomplished teacher and performer from Plovdiv and a member of the folkloric ensemble “Trakia”\, will lead a Bulgarian dance and singing workshop. She will present at least one Bulgarian dance that we will join in song as we dance it. She will teach additional dances with songs and songs for dancing as there is time and interest. \n \nRumyana Filkova\nRumyana Filkova is a professional Bulgarian folk singer\, educator\, and researcher. She has been on the stage for over two decades\, where she presented the rich vocal heritage from the Balkans. She has lead students on the path of traditional Bulgarian folk singing\, sharing her diverse experience and knowledge. Rumyana Filkova has numerous records with Bulgarian State Radio\, Radio Blagoevgrad\, Orchestra of the Bulgarian State Television\, The choir of the Academy of Music and Dance Plovdiv\, and many other guest performances with ensembles across the county. She has taught classes and workshops for Bulgarian and foreign folk song student.
