DESCRIPTION:International Dance Party with Da! Mozhem Dance to your favorite international tunes with Da! Mozhem. \nBring snacks and non-alcoholic beverages to help make it a party\, and tips for the band!  \nDa! Mozhem\nDa! Mozhem is quite possibly the largest folk dance band popular today in the Bay Area. Da! Mozhem plays and sings high-energy pan-Balkan music for the joy of dancing. D!M is a group of friends who have been playing together for well over a decade. The group has veterans from many excellent folklore bands such as the People’s International Silver String Macedonian Band\, Born to Drone\, Westwind\, Sviraci\, and the Slavonian Travelling Band. The band plays with emphasis on Bulgarian\, Macedonian\, and ex-Yugoslav traditions. Several members frequently travel to the Balkans to learn more about the folkloric music of the region. The group plays on traditional instruments unique to the region as well as modern instruments. DESCRIPTION:The Zagyva Band on tour from Budapest will be performing in the Black Box theatre at the Woodside Priory. The program schedule is: \n4 – 5pm Concert\n5 – 6 pm Children’s táncház\n6 – 11pm Adult táncház with teaching circles \nDuring the táncház Ignac Kadar\, a professional dancer from Hungary\, and Laci Tihanyi\, director of the Eszterlánc ensemble here in the Bay Area\, will lead teaching circles so you don’t have to know the dances to participate. Wear comfortable shoes.  Bottled water is a good idea too. \nFree on-street parking and at Safeway city lot 1/2 block away. Give yourself some time to park. It’s only a short 4 block walk from the San Leandro Bart station to the studio.

SUMMARY:2020 Scholarship Ball
DESCRIPTION:GOLD DIGGERS DANCE\nEach year the Sacramento Folk Dance Council (SIFDAC) raises funds for scholarships to attend folk dance camps through donations from the Scholarship Ball. Eligible candidates are selected based on procedures and requirements determined by SIFDAC. \nPlease bring finger food to share–thank you!  Why not dress as “gold diggers” in denim or “fancy dress!” \nDOWNLOAD\, print\, and share a flier! \nDance requests will not be sold this year\, but SIFDAC member clubs are invited to pre-request popular dances–half of the program will be Golden Oldies and half will be Newer Dances.  The pre-request deadline will be the end of 2019. \nIn early January 2020\, preview the 2020 Scholarship Ball program\, plus visit membership and scholarship application details. \nThank you for your support in helping local dancers attend folk dance camps via our SIFDAC scholarships!
