SUMMARY:Land Dancers Folk Dance Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Please join the Land Dancers this Labor Day weekend September 5 to 7 for International and Israeli folk dancing and music at The Land. Anyone is welcome.  Fun for families. No charge. Held every Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend. Founded by Cliff Jenkins and friends in 1981.  \nYou can camp out for the whole weekend or just come for the day and enjoy the deck\, the creek\, the forest\, dancing and friends! \nWe dance outdoors on a big redwood deck where two creeks come together in the Santa Cruz Mountains\, off Skyline Blvd near Highway 9. Dancing typically runs from around noon to 11 pm Saturday and Sunday but there isn’t a set schedule. Note map shown is only general vicinity\, contact Betsy to RSVP and for directions. \nThe event is free of charge but we welcome donations to Land Dancers\, the 501c(3) organization we created to organize and carry on folk dance weekends at the land. DESCRIPTION:Instead of dressing up and dancing\, the Saratoga Folk Dancers will be bringing school supplies to their all-requests dance party. Whatever is donated will be given to Luther Burbank School District in San Jose. Join the party and bring a bag of school supplies! Bring a snack to share for the refreshment table. \nWarmup and dances for beginners between 7:30 and 8:15pm. The dance party follows until 10:00-10:15pm.  \nThis is a large\, friendly group; you won’t be disappointed! Drop in fee $8\, seniors $6\, and first visit free. SUMMARY:Cafe Shalom Dance Party
DESCRIPTION:Israeli folk dancers from all over the Bay Area dance the night away at Café Shalom’s Saturday party—a monthly tradition since the 1960s! We play a wonderful mix of oldies and the latest dances based on requests. Dancers of all ages are invited to join the fun on the third Saturday of every month.  \nSaturday classes are large parties with many dancers from all ages and spectrum. We dance dances from 1918 and from 2018 back to back. \nThe first part of the evening – 30-45 minutes starts with slow and beginners dances\, oldies\, and dances which we learn in Tuesday class. Every September annually\, the Polish community in the South Bay throws an unforgettable celebration at St. Brother Albert’s\, and you’re invited! \nThe 25th Annual Polish Festival takes place at St. Brother Albert Church in San Jose\, on Sunday\, September 27th\, 2026. \n10:30am Bilingual Mass\,\n11:30am-5pm Festival on mission grounds. \nTraditional Polish food\, beer\, music\, songs and folk dancing throughout the day. \nFestival Lineup\nŁowiczanie Polish Folk Dance Ensemble\nSince their formation in 1975\, this group has been a vibrant part of the Bay Area’s Polish community. They have also actively supported other folk dance groups and the wider Bay Area community by participating in and producing events that shine a spotlight on folk culture. \nSokoły – Łowiczanie Ensemble for Kids\nSOKOLY (“Falcons” in Polish) is a team of young performers who present traditional dances and songs of Poland. The group was founded in April 2015 under the umbrella of Łowiczanie Polish Folk Dance Ensemble. Group was co-founded by Gosia Wojciechowska and Piotr Irby\, but it would not have survived the covid and later years without Kasia Hudack\, their wonderful music director and singing teacher.  \nChór Wujów\nChór Wujów (The Choir of Uncles) is a fun\, one-off project by a group of friends who have come together to pay tribute to the golden years of Polish music. They will be joined on stage by special guests to perform a curated selection of covers that we all know and love.
