On October 15th, Kolo Koalition, BBKM and SIFDAC proudly present
Kabile. Kabile is a band of Thracian (Bulgaria) musicians touring
the West coast. They are one of Bulgaria's premier wedding bands
that is reuniting for the fall 2008 tour. The five-member band plays
the gaida, tapan, kaval and accordian, and includes two excellent
vocalists. All of the band members studied at premier schools of
traditional Bulgarian music and song and collectively form one of
the most respected ensembles in Bulgarian Thrace. One of the touring
members emigrated to the United States in 1995; the entire band
reunited in 2007 to produce a CD.
Kabile will regale us with their virtuosity in concert followed by
music for dancing. The Wedding starts at 7:30 pm at YLI Hall,
1400-27th Street (27th & N Streets) in Sacramento. A $10.00 donation
is requested. Bring your friends and neighbors to this one. It is a
rare opportunity to hear the "real thing" live!! And of course bring
your dancing feet! Wear your Bulgarian finery; participate in the
Wedding!
